Christmas and more

Christmas this year was so much fun! Joseph especially was excited for a small Christmas just with our little family, and now I am convinced that he was right.
We had to poke Emily a couple of times to get her up (the first prod just resulted in a tired "I want to stay in bed!"), but once she realized she would get to open presents, she was out of bed like a shot. She did a happy dance in her doorway, pulled the last ring off our Christmas countdown chain, and pounced on the presents. The first one happened to be for me so she gave me a hand opening it.
She was a pro at opening presents. She opened all of hers without help and most of Caleb's too.
Here's Caleb playing with a gift from my parents.
And this baby laptop was a hit with both Emily and Caleb.
I don't know how so many pictures of me in my pajamas have ended up on this blog. I must spend a lot more time in them than I realized.

Here's Emily sitting with a few of her treasures. That stocking especially has found a special place in her horde of late.
All in all it was a fantastic Christmas. Emily is at the perfect age for enjoying the excitement and little Caleb is at the age where if big sister thinks it's cool then it is cool so he was happy to go along with the flow.

Here are some older pictures from earlier in the week.
I stopped nursing Caleb a couple of months ago but Emily has a great memory. She takes good care of her dolls. She is a lot better at nursing modestly in public than I was!
And here she is burping the baby doll. Notice the little burp cloth on her shoulder (thanks, Grandma Cooper!)

Here she is with one of her best buddies who lives nearby. They really spend a lot of time fighting over toys, but we managed to capture a peaceful moment here. I am convinced that tv is a drug, but if it sedates the kids enough to give me a moment's reprieve, then it has my approval.
And here is my darling little boy. Isn't he a cutie?

Lol about Emily nursing the doll. Noah (Joe and Lucia's boy) nurses his stuffed duck. Aren't kids so funny and cute!
