The Other Texas Coopers

Yesterday we spent a fun-filled day with Jared and Suzie and Tyler and Derek in San Antonio. I took a lot of pictures, so here are a bunch of them all at once.
The outdoor ones were all taken at a really neat Japanese tea-garden that Suzie decided to take us to. We wandered along lots of little walkways meandering around and across a big pond full of koi and a turtle (and a guy fishing out leaves with a net). Tyler and Derek were given a handful of fish food and managed to attract probably 15 fish plus the turtle to their little corner of the pond. There were also gigantic pottery kilns, shown in one of the pictures, which were pretty cool to see.
After the tea-garden we went back to Jared and Sue's house to relax and play some rockband. I have to say, I think our familes would have a great future together touring as a rockband, especially little Tyler on the guitar. Then we ate dinner and made some Halloween cookies. Most of us were frosting the cookies just to eat them, but Joseph was creating works of art. The T-rex and witch shown above were his.
And then all of a sudden it was past 9:00 and time to head back to Austin since it's a good two hour drive from their house to our apartment. Poor Emily had been asleep since 6:30, was woken up by our departure at 9:30, and stayed awake the whole drive home so didn't get back to sleep until 12:00 am. All without any complaint. She's a little trooper.

Janet wants to know if that was a bat cookie that turned into a T-Rex?

I want to know if Joseph was as annoyed by RockBand's drum-set sequence as I was. I found that if you listen to the music, it is impossible to be on beat. You have to preemptively beat the thing.

We actually had some dinosaur cookie cutters. I thought they were still Halloween appropriate.

I was annoyed by the drums at first and failed pretty badly (Tyler came to my rescue), but then Jared let me calibrate the system so that the visuals matched the audio. It was much easier to play and I could get streaks nearing 100.
