Elinor is a happy baby. She's so content with life. As a result, she hasn't rolled over on her own yet. I'm pretty sure she can. She just doesn't want to. If she's lying on her on her back, she studies the lights and fans. If she's lying on her tummy, she studies the amazing patterns on the floor.

It's a world of joy and wonder to little miss Elinor. New things and experiences wait around every corner.

A new experience for Amanda came when our good friend Kristen decided that she wasn't taking citizenship in our proud nation seriously enough. So she organized a surprise party to celebrate it properly.

I spent most of the evening home with the kids, but I did get a chance to peak in for a moment. It was really quite an event. Plenty of people provided parcels of patriotic prizes. Amanda came home with this great T-shirt, some flags, a baseball, potato chips, American cheese, and a brick with an entombed civil war soldier figure that you're supposed to chisel out, among other great gifts.

Jessie went all out as lady liberty. The costume was incredible, but for some reason... it sort of gave me the
jibblies.

"Come on in heeeerrrreee, all you huddled masses yearning to breathe freeee.."

Perhaps the ladies were just looking for an excuse to party, but I think they did it up right. Amanda, shy as ever, blushed for three straight hours from the attention. The pink cheeks just make her that much more beautiful.

Elinor is so big! And she's so pretty. She looks to have Amanda's smile, I think. She definitely looks a lot like Emily.
Oh, so awesome for Kristen to host such a rad party! And it's true - it's totally something to celebrate!! Jessie's costume is so fly!
What a fun idea for some loving, supportive friends! Hooray for Amanda!
JAcob is a little too happy with his back to roll too. I'm pretty sure he's never going to crawl :).
