Ha! She's finally old enough to say funny things (that we can understand):
I was walking along in the hot sun with Emily and she kept jabbing at her forehead with her index finger saying, "a cry! a cry!" It took me a minute to figure out that she was showing me that her head was crying (sweating).
Angry at us for no more milk, Emily racked her brain for the word sad and ended up improvising: "Emily happy no!"
The other day at the library I found I couldn't stay serious after reprimanding her and having her answer so somberly, "Yes, Daddy."
Yesterday at lunch time:
Me: Okay Em, let's wipe your face.
[She lights up after a second like she had been thinking and just solved a difficult problem. Then she points at her cheek]
Em: There it is!!

The writing is Joseph's but it says it was posted by Amanda. I'm confused.
Amanda writes funny things too sometimes. This is all hers. Emily's comment at the library wouldn't be nearly so funny if she was actually talking to her daddy.
Actually, I suppose the bulk of the "funny" credit goes to Emily. She knows she's silly. Amanda was nursing the baby one day; so Emily took out her dolly, sat down beside Amanda, and started nursing... from her knee. She really has a strong imagination and sense of humor.
Acchk! You're kids a great! Emily is pretty funny, and Caleb gets cuter every day. Thanks for sharing your lives with us!
Those are so funny! I love it when kids say funny stuff. It just gets better and better. Make sure that you keep writing it down so that you don't forget.
