Joseph and I were expecting to have to fight and fight Emily to get her to switch from sleeping in a crib to a big bed. She's really attached to her crib. Really. Sometimes we put her in there to calm down when she's at the end of her rope and she'll just play in there happily for a half hour or so and then ask to be taken out. I put Caleb in there for a second the other night and she got really mad and pointed and yelled until I took him out. Sometimes we tuck Emily into the big bed with her Jingle Bear and she's happy and thinks it's fun until we turn off the lights and start to leave. Then she gets nervous and makes unhappy noises until we put her in the crib.Last night we did one of these "put-Emily- in-the-big-bed-until-she-won't-tolerate-it" runs and she was fine. She waved goodbye to us and went to sleep. And stayed there until morning. Mostly. Joseph looked in on her around midnight and found her standing next to the bed with her head resting on her pillow, fast asleep. Honestly, it kind of creeped me out. But she must have rolled out of bed and then been too tired to climb back in. She has to run all the way around to the wall side where there's a heater on the wall that she steps on to climb in. What a little tyke! So young to be in a big twin bed.
She's in the bed napping now, and Joseph and I have plans to raise the crib and change the bedding tonight (hopefully making it so it doesn't look like her crib anymore).
The above is a picture of our living room. I was looking around today and it has been completely taken over by young Master Caleb! We even brought out the recliner just for him. He wakes up too often to room with Emily and he's too noisy to room with me and Joseph, so he has been ousted to the only other available room in our teensy apartment. But he has certainly made himself at home there!
And this final picture is of the two little ones, playing happily together. Actually, Emily was just excited for the new toys that are old really but she forgot about them. She also likes to hold Caleb's hand/arm whenever I pull out the camera.

I just LOVE that little guy! We're going to have to visit again soon. It's so funny how kids forget about their toys and then get all excited about them again. We gave Tyler the same present (like the exact same box) three times in a row and he was overjoyed every time. I'm glad that Emily is sleeping in her bed. What a big girl!
