The other day Joseph and I were surprised to see Emily standing on her own, playing with a toy. She had pulled herself up against Joseph and then let go so she'd have both hands free to play. We started clapping and cheering for her and then she started clapping and cheering for herself, which knocked her off balance and sent her tumbling.


Once she realized she could pull off this trick that impressed her parents so much, she started doing it more.

Later that day I was on the computer and Joseph was reading on the couch and we were both surprised to see Emily standing alone in the middle of the room without using anything to pull herself up against.
She keeps surprising us by how big she is and how quickly she's learning.
