I was awfully young then

My brother and his family just moved to San Antonio. We're ecstatic to have family living nearby. We drove down to visit them this weekend. The drive is kinda long but it was fun to visit. The nephews have grown a lot. They showed me how to use the Nintendo Wii. I wasn't very good at it.

After we had visited for a while, we all went downtown to see the Alamo and go out to eat. The Alamo was kind of neat. I'm not sure I understand why it's considered a "shrine to independence". Still, I liked it.
Emily didn't find it too interesting.
In fact, all of the kids were bored. They wanted to see fireworks, not just stuffy old memorabilia.
We went over to the river walk to put our names on the reservations list at a restaurant.
The waiting list was pretty long; so we wandered off along the trail.
We stopped for a rest.
We waited some more...
We eventually got into the restaurant, and then had an even longer wait for them to serve us. The food was terrific when it finally came, but by then it was past nine o'clock and Emily was not pleased with the service. So... not a great place for impatient babies, but still a fun atmosphere. We loved visiting with Jared and Sue and their kids.

My favorite is the string of drool in Emily and Joseph's close-up.

I'm still trying to find correlation between the title and the content.
I'm a little slow, you see...

It's because I don't really remember the Alamo. After all, I was awfully young then. I think Pete used that answer in a Mickey Mouse cartoon to answer why he didn't remember when he was born.

Ah. I see the restaurant service hasn't gotten any better since I was a kid, starving and walking aimlessly along the Riverwalk...but I do remember thinking the food was incredible.

Emily is such a cutie!!!

Why is my face obscured in every photo I'm in? Oh, right, I was dodging the paparazzi. Now I remember...
