So, I didn't order any school pictures for Emily this year because they are so ridiculously expensive. Then I saw the shot and I was really sad I wasn't getting it. So we went to JC Penney (who, by the way, is offering a free 8x10 and no sitting fees in November) and had Emily sit for a session there. I was hoping for a more traditional, school picture looking shot, but we are happy with these.

5 years old! In kindergarten! Whaa!
And, only $12 for way more pictures than the $40 package I would have ordered through the school.

I love that cute girl.
I totally agree! We get ours done at Sears - I can get pictures of all the kids for what it would cost for one school package. I like them better because I'm not crazy about traditional school pics anyway.
I love this dress on her. She is such a beautiful girl!
School pictures are crazy high because of the kick back that the school gets. It's nothing more than an elaborate fund raiser. These are beautiful pictures of a beautiful girl.
hmm... now that i know it's a fundraiser, i might be more inclined to buy them in the future... maybe when (if) we have a little more money to spare.
The trouble with this type of fundraising (as also with Book Orders) is that we have no way of knowing if the fundraising is happening reasonably. I suspect that the photographers are still coming away with a tidy profit and we'd do better to have the photos done at a reasonable price and then donate funds to the school.
