When we finally had enough space to actually put the tree up Emily helped put up a few ornaments before she went to bed. Of the three she handled, she broke two.

She's pretty proud of herself. She held this pose for like thirty seconds until I finally took the picture.
Taking time out to read a book.
And this is a picture of Emily yesterday morning in a kimono coat and a dragon hat clutching the powerful queen of spades.

That baby's ready to go terrorize Tokyo!
She held onto the queen of spades to and from her doctor's appointment. She also carried the broken Green M&M ornament around for an hour or two. She has her treasures. Oh yes, she does.
Super-cute. I can't wait to see my niece!!!
And... my brother and sister-in-law!!!
So, Stephanie and I went out and bought a real Christmas tree. It just didn't feel right to be in that house without a real tree... and we are watching our funds. :)
Fake is much cheaper in the long run. I think that our fake tree cost less than a real tree in the short run too. It's not very fancy. I think we bought it after the season too (we were married just after Christmas, after all). We had a pine-smell candle. It was almost as good.
ours was free. to be expounded upon when we finish everything, but your baby looks like she belongs in an anime cartoon.
