a sad, sad baby

The other day I was a bad mother and dropped Emily as I was picking her up. She was tantruming because I was taking her inside after a fun-filled afternoon of hole digging and she threw herself against my arms which unfortunately were not holding her tight enough. Anyhow, she ended up with a mouthful of dirt and a scrape on her cheek.
She was a sad, sad baby as you can see from these pictures. Actually, I was trying to get a normal picture of her but she heard the beep every time and gave us her camera "smile."

We've been pretty lucky until now with scrapes and baby injuries. I really hope her face is back to normal for her Christmas pictures next week.
I have no idea how to control baby tantrums besides ignoring them and not letting her get her way when she throws them. I can only hope that they'll always be as brief as they are now (about 10 seconds).

On a more positive note, is everyone loving that clementines are back in season?

My cousin once tantrumed her way out of Jason's arms and hit her head hard against the ground too. Kids are tough. I also LOVE clementines...so to answer your question - yes.

Well, she's getting kind of close to a smile.... kind of.

Mmmm, I love clementines! I wish I could say the same for Joshua in regards to injuries. He's usually spotted with scrapes and bruises...and he isn't even 11 months old yet! YIKES! I'm sure I'll be spending many a nights in the ER in the years to come with this boy!
