Birthday Pictures!

Here are the long awaited pictures from my birthday! :)
In the morning, Joseph asked me if I wanted to open presents right away or wait until we got to Jared and Sue's house that afternoon. (Joseph's brother and sister-in-law who live in San Antonio.) I said I wanted them right at that very moment, so he brought out my cute stack of presents.

Here is a shot of how excited I was to open them. Too bad I didn't do my hair before deciding to do this. I got a whole bunch of thoughtful little gifts from Joseph like a new journal, some DVD's I love, an SD card for my phone and a couple of other things.
After church we drove for almost two hours to get to Jared and Suzie's house for me and Suzie's double birthday celebration. It sounds like a long drive, but it's not really that bad. Especially compared to the drive to Utah. We're so happy we have relatives nearby! Here's a picture from right when we got there. Emily loves balloons. She helped Derek dump a whole bunch of them over the little gate into the kitchen so the dog could play too.

After a delicious dinner made by Suzie we had birthday pie and brownie. Here Suzie and Pam and Derek are trying to blow out her candles. Me and Em took care of mine pretty quick. The brownies don't look like they have a 23 on them, but the two is made out of little candles and the three is standing up.

And here I am opening my cute present from Jared and Suzie. It was a little pink pre-made scrapbook for Emily. Suzie put together all the pages and all I have to do is stick my pictures in! I hope I can handle that, because I for sure can't handle real scrapbooking.
I have to say that 23 is a great old age to be, but I think senility (or dementia) is beginning to set in early. The other day I made pancakes while Joseph was gone and when he got home I said to him, "I hope you're able to find the baking powder because I sure have no idea where it is." And he said, "didn't you use it today?" and I had but I still had no idea where it was. Joseph found it in the fridge later that evening.
Today I was trying to do laundry and had made three trips up and down the apartment stairs to get the stroller and all the laundry outside but then I could not find the detergent anywhere! I called Joseph pretty angry and upset and asked him if he had put it anywhere special because I was certain I had put it away last time I'd done laundry. He had no idea and told me to buy some more because I probably left it in the laundromat last week. I was frustrated and went downstairs to start bringing things back in. But then I found the detergent out with the stroller and the laundry baskets. I swear I didn't do it though.

And back to the birthday picture post... here's a picture I just had to throw in of Emily playing Rock Band her way.

Happy Birthday, guys! I really wish that I could have been there; but our days have been absolutely nuts, and getting to Texas hasn't been an option yet.
I miss you all so much!

It's okay if you're losing your mind. You'll get it back after the baby comes. I found that the baby boys suck your brain way more than the baby girls. Maybe it's just the effect of the extra testosterone. Anyway - it's real - but don't worry. You'll be okay later.
